Summer Camp offerings posted!
“Both of my daughters participated in different age-specific camps with Etta Mae and Uncle Aubrey this past summer (2024). I had always heard good things about Etta Mae and Uncle Aubrey’s offerings, but the creations and feedback I received from my children was beyond my expectations! Both daughters came home from camp each day excited and eager to share what they had done that day. Communication was clear and I felt that I was leaving my girls in a safe and supportive environment in the most magical of settings! They learned things that I wish I knew how to do! I will be looking out for all future opportunities at the Center of Creativity, and am grateful for their commitment to our keiki and community”.

“I was delighted to see the gallery pieces my child came home with and the joy in her voice as she shared her gorgeous creations. My inner child is getting something real and deep by witnessing my daughter have these rich deep earthy creative experiences with art that I always wished I had had! What the Center of Creativity offers is beyond meaningful and no doubt will stay with my daughter and us for a lifetime. My daughter has an artist's heart, and to have her get time at the Center of Creativity - even just for a week in the Summer- empowers her imagination and creativity in ways I couldn’t dream of reaching! Not to mention the love, joy, sweet games and nourishing presence that is brought so fully by both Aubrey and Etta Mae! My girl is nourished on all the right levels, our dining room dawning new beautiful earthy art creations- a perfect end cap to our summer!”

“Several of my children have enjoyed learning from Etta over the years. My youngest daughter recently took a plant dying and a paper making class and had an amazing time. She was so excited to go every morning and was happy when she came home. She is usually one to complain of being bored a lot. She wasn’t bored for a minute with Etta! At the end of the classes she came home with many creations, lots of different kinds of papers she made and yarn she dyed, a flower press, a book about plants for dying. I was really impressed with how much they did in a few days! My oldest daughter took a weekly class for some time as well. She is a picky one, being a teenager, as far as what kind of things she wants to attend; yet she loved the class and also came home with amazing art she created! I am so thankful for the Center of Creativity and I am looking forward to my kids participating in more events. This is truly a great opportunity for kids to get off the screens and get in touch with their creativity. Etta is a fun teacher and all my kids love her!” -Shanti Lefort
“My daughter attended a few Workshops at the Center for Creativity with Etta Mae. She loved the hands-on projects using natural materials such as wool roving, felt, wood, eggs, beeswax and natural dyes. She also loved having time with other children her age in a creative space. Etta Mae has years of experience working in the realm of handicraft and guiding children, as they create beautiful and meaningful art. I’m delighted the Center Of Creativity is here in our community to fost
“Etta came to my Workplace Readiness Program class at HAAS to teach my Highschool students coconut weaving. She did an awesome job! The students loved Etta’s style, everyone was engaged at their own level, and each student made beautiful pieces. We hope to work more with her in the future!” -John Theismann, Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science Workplace Readiness Program
